Trail 12: Discovering the Pezo de Gazolin

The path leads to Fondovalle. From Doss dei Laresi (1280 m), reached by cable car from Cavalese or from Fondovalle, take the forest road on the right that branches off gently towards the magical Salanzada area, at an altitude of 1,057 metres, following path L10. Once you reach the Agritur Salanzada, a crossroads of emotions and flavours awaits you, where you will find the sign that will lead you left onto path 12 Alla Scoperta del Pezo del Gazolin. After about 200 metres, turn right and you will reach the pretty Le Mandre hut. Along the way, signposts will indicate the famous ‘Pèzo del Gazolin’, a majestic tree that stretches a few centimetres towards the sky every year. Looking at the diameter of its trunk, which has grown a centimetre at a time, one cannot help but imagine what it will look like in 100 – 200 years’ time!

Continue the journey and you will soon arrive in the wonderful picnic area, where you can take a regenerative break in the midst of nature. Continuing on, the path leads to the Cavalese Waterfall, a natural jewel that is definitely worth a visit! Follow the signs and take the cycle path (path 13 Sulle Tracce della Storia) and finally arrive at the Fondovalle station, ready to take you back to Cavalese by cable car, carrying in your heart the memory of this enchanting journey among the wonders of nature.
