Trentino Ski Sunrise – Rifugio Paion
A winter morning, to see the first light of day from the Paion refuge, one of the most scenic in our mountains. Early risers will be greeted by a hearty breakfast of cakes, fruit, cheeses and Fiemme cold cuts, pampered by the scent of freshly baked bread with butter and local jams, waiting to enjoy a radiant bath of light from the hut terrace. Pink, deep blue, orange are just some of the hues that the morning sky is capable of taking on, to be admired even while comfortably seated beside a splendid bonfire. Enjoy this exclusive spectacle, before throwing yourself onto the perfectly groomed slopes where you can draw your first ski run… because skiing on the virgin slope is an experience that will leave its mark!
PROGRAMME
6 a.m. – Meet at the start of the Cavalese-Doss dei Laresi cable car(bottom station). Be punctual, because the lift will be open only for you and the dawn will not wait for latecomers!
6.05 a.m. – The ascent by cable car begins, silent and panoramic, caressing the treetops. You will then continue with a short chairlift ride surrounded by the darkness of the night that is about to end.
6.45 a.m. – You are at the summit! Your gaze sweeps across the most beautiful peaks in the world, from Latemar and Catinaccio to the Pale di San Martino, from the Lagorai chain to the Brenta Dolomites.
Now you have deserved a healthy and rich breakfast at Rifugio Paion. Michele is waiting for you with a buffet worthy of the most important occasions: homemade cakes and bread for all tastes, honey and jams to match and yoghurt and milk from the Fresca Fiemme line, as well as the savoury version with cheeses from the Caseificio Val di Fiemme dairy and the legendary speck and cold cuts from Tito – Il Maso dello Speck. Between one tasting and the next, everyone on the terrace, comfortably seated around the bonfire to enjoy the changing colours of the new day as it dawns, waiting for the sun to rise.
8.30 a.m. – lace up your boots and latch on your skis for the first slope of the day, which has just been groomed and is still closed to the public, starting from the Cima del Paion down to the valley: for the more expert, the Olimpia I, II and III slopes, with possible blue and red variants for those who prefer softer descents.
9.00 a.m. – You can also decide to return home or to your hotel, or go to work… but if we had to give you one piece of advice, it would undoubtedly be to stay and enjoy the whole day: at this time the snow is perfect and there are many pistes to explore, there will be time to sleep later!
