Panoramio - A 360 virtual view on the Dolomiti

A window on the largest wilderness area in Trentino, this is the panorama on the Dolomiti

Located at 2250m at the summit of Paion del Cermis, it is a fully equipped observatory from which you can admire and recognize the beautiful mountains that surround Alpe Cermis, in particular some Dolomite mountains.

Southwards you can see the imposing Lagorai chain, characterized by its dark volcanic rocks, while towards the west and east, the panorama is dominated by the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site (June 2009).

There are as many as 11 dolomitic groups that you can admire from this exceptional spot:

  • Brenta
  • Latemar
  • Antermoia
  • Sassolungo
  • Sella
  • Marmolada
  • Cristallo
  • Antelao
  • Pelmo
  • Civetta
  • Pale di S.Martino

You can also see the glaciers of the Alpi Retiche (Ortles, Gran Zebru, Similaun, Palla Bianca, etc.)

The installation has been designed and built like a compass and is therefore oriented according to the compass points.

It allows you to identify and know the name of every single summit visible through a simple series of sights and targets. The names of the main resorts and valleys are also shown in order to help understand the complex geography of this splendid alpine region.
